Hey ya'll!

99 v70's rear hatch quit opening! Ive climbed in there, got the back panel off (yea, it broke but thats another repair) I just want my wife to be able to open the friggin back hatch. Ive tried actuating the switch by hand, inside latch and outside latch both hit the same lever in the assembly but ive tried every combination of prayer, inscense on the dashboard, and holding my mouth just right but cannot get the thing to open up. Ive squirted half a can of WD40 all over, no dice.

Please help save my marriage, b/c Im sure all you married guys know by now...somehow it was my fault the thing stopped working even though she's the one that drives the thing.

 

Sorry to say but some thing broke inside.
There is a few posts about getting it open. I usually break it all apart and get it opened but then replace the latch.

the pic on page one is deleted. So I need to remove the motor and then break apart some things?

Any idea where and how much a new assembly is? Googling is not my forte' Im afraid.

 

I think you can only get it from the Dealer Im not sure how much though.
