Is there anyone out there with a 2nd Generation V70 (mines a 2000 T5 Geartronic) who has solved their stupid transmission problems without replacing the transmission???

I've done the ATF flush and all my software is up to date but the shift flares and jerking (although greatly reduced in severity and frequency) are still present. I'm looking at AUD$6000 for a new transmission or AUD$4700 for a a new valve body. I think i'd rather go the whole new tranny with warranty if it comes to that. Or is it something to do with the throttle? O2 Sensors? ( i have transmission service and emissions service messages)

Am I just throwing good money after bad?

Strangely I still love this car and i really want it to work for me. its the most comfy and practical car i could have bought. plus i think she's real pretty.

 

I share your pain. I'm about to head down this well travelled path to bad gearbox world.
