Default Scored V70R today!

I can't believe I picked up a 2000 V70R today at auction! I will do a timing belt as soon as I get it home, but it looks like it's been well maintained. The black paint looks awesome. I can't wait to get it home this Tuesday.

I had set a hopeless bidding limit (because I know what the car is worth), and was shocked to find a low reserve and me the winning bidder.

But it gets better....as I'm poking around the internet to compare availability and value, I find the Autotrader ad for it at Almartin Volvo for......$5995!

So after deciding to sell my Audi Coupe last month after buying a nice '97 Saab 9000 CSE, I have the upgrade of dreams - the V70R. I will be selling both the Audi and the Saab, now. Anyone interested?
1990 Audi Coupe w/ 195k $2700 / bo
1997 Saab 9000 CSE w/ 134k $2700 / bo

So now I have to update my signature.

What a car! I know it has its limitations, but I really like it. No major issues on the way home. I think it needs a tie rod end, and it has a clunk in the left rear, but the driveline is fine - the transmission shifts smoothly with no clunks or vibrations. I did check the timing belt before I drove it home - it looks okay, but it's due for a change. I found the sticker with 97k on it, so I will not delay!

I got on the gas on some wet pavement and experienced traction control! It has a very subtle exhaust tone, too.

It is very clean inside and out. Nice paint.

nice one,
I'd hold off on those boost launches though, angle drive will fail and cost a fortune to fix!
my R was a little older than yours (single pipe) but a manual. I had some problems hence I'm conservative here.

10% of the power to the rear wheels...
250HP =25 to the back = 12.5 to each rear wheel.....

150KG weight penalty mmmmm numbers no longer adding up well for AWD.

none the less, take care of it it looks like a great buy very good condition.

good luck with it BTW angle drive failure notorious for 110-120K miles

Rattle my guess -upper shock mounts and or rear shockers

I will be conservative and careful in my ownership of it, too. It's too expensive to risk breaking it with max launches, especially since it has almost 200k on it. Rear mounts/shocks were my first thought, too.

On the angle drive, will other Volvo AWD transmission angle drives (70 series) swap in?
