We pushed our back seats forward to load something in the trunk, now the seat belts have tightened and won't loosen up. Is there a DYI to fix this?

 

The best thing to do is loosen the Belts from the floor mounting and fold the seat up and reattach them to the floor.

This is common on the V70.

For future refrence pull the seatbelts out some first before folding the seat. This way you know there is enough slack to fold it back up.

 

Thanks Tech. I was just going to post that I did a search on the topic and saw your replies elsewhere. Thanks for the quick response. I have an appt. with Volvo tomorrow and the car is under warranty. Do you think that would fall under the warranty?

I bought the car from someone who transferred their bumper to bumper warranty to me. It's from Volvo.

 

Maybe not sure.

 

Just took it to Volvo. They did exactly as you suggested. Undid the belt at the base. They had to melt some sort of stop into the belt. It had broken off. $57. Won't know until later if it's covered by the Warranty.
