I've got a 98 V70 XC and need to have a second key made. Is there any way other than going through the dealership to get this done?

 

On a 1998 a lock smith should be able to make it (No computer chip)

 

I thought they used the chip in 98 but I may be wrong. There is a place in Birminham, AL called Franklin Automotive and they copied my keys for $20 total. I had purchased some blanks on ebay but the local locksmiths wanted almost 40 to cut my key. I found Franklin to be extremely nice and easy to work with. I know if you go thru a dealer the key is ordered and arrives cut so there should be no issue with it working.
