Default Service indicator has not come on

Hi all,

Just a quick question. I have a 2005 V70 D5 AWD. The car has done just over 85000 miles.

I have been waiting for the service indicatior to flash on the dash since 84000 (as 84000 is stated as the service time in the handbook). Does the service indicator come on everytime it needs a service or not. Why has it not come on yetif the service book says 84000? Should I have the car serviced now as normal, then just turn it off when it decides to show or wait until it says that a service is necessary.

I'm not too sure what to do but would appreciate any help on the matter.

Regards,

Rich

I believe the service indicator just comes on every 7,500 miles, so it just depends when the last service was done.

Default RE: Service indicator has not come on

Hi there! Thanks for the reply.

I had the service carried out at my local volvo stealership at 72000 miles. The service indicator came on at roughly the right time for the service to have been caried out. The service was completed at the stealership and the SI was reset.

I have done over 12000 miles since the last service was carried out and yet no sign of this SI. Just a bit concerned to be honest why it isnt showing.

Is there a way to get it to come up?

Many thanks to you all.

Rich

I am not an expert but that seems strange to me. If it were my car I would just take it in and have the service done and have them troubleshoot the service light.

Hi, It will only come on once a year as a rule,
Its dependant on Miles travelled, time since last service & engine running time.
It never flicks on when you hit the magical number...
Good luck
