98 V-70 T-5 I have a shudder at 1-2 shift only when the wheels are turned. When they are straight it shifts fine. Anybody have any ideas? thanks in advance

 

How do the axles look?

 

Thanks Tech, The boots look good. It had a motor mount replacement just before I got. It was the front one. I'm wondering if the axle could be bent.

 

I would check for play in the inner joints on both axles.

I've been paying special attention to this shudder. It only does it when I accelerate slowly. On fast acceleration it shifts just fine.It feels alot like a pump has low pressureor a filter is clogged and it spurts fluid on every rotation. Does this car have a filter? The fluid is clean and smells normal. Thanks in advanve

 

No it doesn't have a filter you can change. Does the fluid look dirty?

 

Does it do it when in reverse? *just gonna throw that in*

 

No the fluid is clean and smells good. It really feels like the pump is starving for fluid. I feel it in the gas pedal when it shudders like the engine is rolling back and forth as well.

 

How about the transmission torque mount is that ok?

 

Thanks for your response, I'm not sure where the transmission torque mount is. Can you tell me more. I know it had a new lower motor mount installed before I got it.

 

There is a mount that goes between the transmission and the subframe. If you look under the car it is by where the one power steering line goes from the subframe to the rack.

 

Well, After all the concern for the transmission it turns out that the front and rear motor mounts were bad. I changed them out and no more shudder and it runs so smooth now. Thanks for all the help. I sure learned alot with this one.
