Just finished replacing my steering shaft on my '02 V70. The U-joint was seized solid. I thought it was the steering rack and was about 2 bolts away from having the rack removed from the car. Big job as the subfame needs to be dropped and the engine suspended. Noticed the bad u-joint in the shaft and just replaced it instead. Another Saturday wasted working on the Volvo!
