Default Trunk key cap

I just bought a used 2000 V70 and it has some issues as would be expected in a used car. One is the trunk keyless entry is finicky. I see that others have this problem but honestly I just don't care about the auto lock. That is of course if I could use my key. There is a spot on the trunk that looks like a key should go in but it has a black plastic solid circle thing instead. Is this a cap that can be removed for the key to go in? If so how do I? If not, is there a possible place to use a key in the trunk?

The cap I'm refering to is under the flip piece. At least I know that's where the key should go.

Maybe the deal on the inside of the cap is stuck to the key hole. Try to scrape of peal it off. A pic might help.

thanks for the help. turns out the lock was ruined and the prev. owner had it plugged. grrr. this means i have to either get the mechanism for the keyless remote fixed or the cylinder rebuilt for my key.

Hello, If the cylinder can be repinned, which I assume is the case, it should be vastly cheaper than any "new part" purchase. Removing it will be the hardest part. Kira
