Default V70 2.5 petrol exhaust manifold

Hi,

new here, just bought a v70 2.5 petrol 20valve on saturday and i thought the baffles were gone on the exhaust but on closer inspection the flexi piece on the manifold is blowing. Im a bit gutted, is this a common thing?

It has only just passed its MOT so the emissions are ok, it just got an advisory for noisy exhaust!

120,000 miles. Doubt its been over rough terrain. Doesnt have a towbar so its not been pulling anything.....

I'm surprised it past inspection with an exhaustleak up front. In Mass. you'd get a big red 'R' for rejection on your front window. I have 203,000 mileson mine, mostly smooth highway. Original manifold.

You have to get your hand over the topof the flexito feel it. I think its worse when cold, when its hot i dont think you can feel it. But its still quite loud. I have to do a 250 mile round trip this weekend but i think it will be ok. As i said it passed the emissions so should be ok til i get a new one.
My first volvo and apart from this problem, its a superb car! Nice and quick too.

I feel the same about mine. Had it a long time with few problems. Yours is a costly one unless there is a aftermarket wrap with clamps on each end. I failed to find one, though my search wasn't extensive.

I will just replace the manifold. Around £150 for a non-gen one.
