Hi I`m a new member with a problem. Recently the diesel pump drive belt broke, on renewal it was found the drive pulley had slipped on the shaft so after adjustment we managed to get the car running again.The problem now is that when starting especially from cold sometimes the revs drop to 4-500 and it runs like an old london bus! and no response at all from the throttle. If starting with slight throttle ie 1500 revs it is fine and runs ok When driving there is no low end power. Timing has been checked ok I have been informed it could be the air mass meter and or the fuel pump. As both parts are expensive and no guarantees if done has anyone got any more thoughts on my problem. On the open road the car drives fine above about 60mph.
