On my V70 the passanger side front door does not lock. The lock moves up and down with the pressing of the remote lock but when the door handle is pulled the door opens even in the locked position. Is this a bad actuator or just that the mechanism has come off.
Also what is the procedure for taking the door panel off without damaging it.

You will need to replace the lock Assembly.

To remove the door panel. Start by remove the trim ring around the inner door handle.Then by the grab handle to close the door from the inside remove the cover and the screw. Then the door panel will pop off from there. Sometimes the glue on the door panel gets weak and might come apart some while removing it.
