Default V70 headache

We have a 2000 V70 non turbo that is giving us extreme headaches on longish drives over 100km. Volvo recommends that all the tyres be set at 200 kpa (26)psi which I fee is very low and when we do this the tyres wear and give less fuel economy - so I have set the pressure at 210 kpa(30)psi. We have 15inch Michelin Energy tyres in good condition.

The car feels rigid but and we feel all road surface bumps. I have had the suspension checked and the shock absorbers seem fine. The car has only travelled 74,000kms and we have had it 2 years and it is still under Volvo dealer warranty.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? Someone has suggested that headaches are cause by exhaust fumes - but we do not smell any fumes. Humm?

Thanks everyone..

It might be the tires.I think they are a little harder tires.

We purchased a new carbon passenger air filter and it seems to have done the trick with no headaches so far on longer drives.

Thanks
