Angry V70 Lights

When I turn on the key, the lights flash on and then turns off. It then regesters that the lights dont work. If I then turn the car off an on again, they flash on and off again. What can be causing this?

are these the high or low beams?
I ask because my '07 has H11's for the lows and H7's for the highs.

After starting the car {and the lights flash on then turn off}, do the lights work at all?

Off the top of my head I think you have a bad headlight relay.

Yes a 2007 with plastic headlamp covers has either h11's or HID bulbs for the low beams. The h11's traditionally get a melted connection at the bulbs - a replacement connector and new bulb solves that. Beware of the cheap h11 connectors you can buy - they will melt again very quickly. HID systems have multiple failure points and can be expensive to fix Both kinds of bulbs can be difficult to get to for replacement - unlike the high beam/daytime running light - it's right there!

Looking at the wiring diagram there is not a relay for high/low beams. That function is controlled by the CEM.

I have low H7 and high H9. The broblem was that Iput in too high 100W and not 55W. Just to get better lighting. Changed it back and now it works. Mine dosent have a relay, it sits in the blinkers arm by the stering wheel.

Yes the CEM cuts power to the bulb if too much current is used. Like a circuit breaker. For better low beams I have successfully installed Oshram “Rallye” 65 watt H7 bulbs. 10 more watts and does not blow the “circuit breaker”
