This was going to be my guess as well.

But since no sunroof, I'm going with the windshield seal. It's the #2 reason I see for leaksinTrueDelta's survey.

what's up, i know exactly what the problem is with your car and the water problem. i had it on my xc70 too. it's one of two things and you can find what i wrote at volvoxc.com too where i posted a reply to the same issue about 6 months ago. on the passenger side wall right where the wiring comes in from the door there is a rubber gasket that keeps water from coming inside. the rubber gasket is either worn out, or cracked. water drips down between the door and cabin and makes its way onto the wiring leading back to the car. then it drips all over the floor once the wires head back up where the water cannot go due to gravity. the other option of the leakage is that there is a vent in the engine compartment that is allowing small amounts of water to enter and when it fills up, the water sloshes out when the car turns or hits bumps. i took mine to a shop by my sisters house in portland while i was visiting and they told me about this option and it makes perfect sense. the vent option in the engine compartment is nothing you can fix though. it's part of how the system is designed! duh! if you open the hood and look closely, you'll see the area where the vent is. it's supposed to be a vent from the cabin for (if i remember right) the air conditioner. you can actually get your hand up under the dash and behind the glove box behind to feel the device that fills up with water. this usually only happens when it rains a lot though. mine only leaked when i was in oregon. anyway, hope that helps as i'm sure it's the problem. you're car is too new for it to be the windshield or the moon roof. take care!

Must agree, very informative answer. I'll keep this in mind when people participating in my research ask what might be causing a water leak.
