What about 2005 reliability?
Looking at a 2005 with 68,000 kms. Owned 244, and 245 years ago, miss the boxy look. This car is base model w/leather and sunroof, automatic. It will be my wifes daily vehicle.
Researching doesn't show a lot on the 2005, more common on the 2006. Was the 2005 a change over year.
Care seems very good but has a light thump sound on turning a corner (not always) and not on a bumpy gravel road. Sound like a heavier ball is rolling and bumps to a stop.......no bowling ***** found.
Appreciate any info as would like to make a deal Monday.

I have an '06. Very reliable, except for what I have posted here. Now has 60k miles. AC fan blower bearing went bad, fixed under warranty. Now have a creaking clutch pedal. Clutch is fine, just an annoying creak when depressing pedal. All electrical/mechanical has been perfect otherwise. No codes, no nothing. Just change the oil, filters, etc.. Still on original break pads. Bought w/ about 25k on her. I absolutely love the car.

Oh, and I was going to mention that when the front struts extend, after certain types of bumps only with the steering slightly angled I get a deep subtle clunk. It's weird. The struts are tight top and bottom (I have heard the top can get loose, but mine are good). I've never really diagnosed it. It's not caliper rattle, it's a deep single clunk just once in a long while. I don't worry about it anymore.
