Default What to look out for on 98-00 V70?

Hi Guys,

I am considering a "new" used car I'll need for daily commuting and holliday purposes. Since I'm living in Denmark cars are somewhat expensive and I can only afford some quite old and used cars in this class. More specifically I have been looking at the 2.5 TDI V70's with some 350-400.000 km on them.

I know these are not exactly new cars, but are there any particulars I need to pay special attention to?

On other brands I know auto trannies can become an expensive experience after so many kms. How does it look with Volvos - are the auto's long term stable?

And how about the engine - are these just going strong 'forever' with proper care? (And turbo renovation...)

Any opinions on whether such a car can provide a fairly stable means of transportation over a couple of years with annually around 25.000 km, with proper care of course?

And finally, the car is listed with a consumption of 15 km/L (or some 6.5 L/100 km) - is this a realistic number, or how does it look?

I'd appreciate your input on these matters

Best,
Dan
