Where are all of my fellow V70's at?
Since I've purchased my 01 in June(ish), I have only seen maybe 2 or 3 01 to 07 generation V70s on the road, one of which resides across the street from me. Most of what I see are XC70's from my generation.
I wonder if they are all just sitting in the junk yards because of all the problems they were plagued with, or if it just wasn't a big seller.
I live in the Chicago area.

I own a '99 V70 and a '01 V70. There are plenty of them driving around in Southern California. I've had no problems with mine. Infact, the most reliable cars I have owned.
Well nothing has breaked on mine yet so I tend to agree. I'm just doing the normal maintenance stuff and a little extra. I've put 8k miles on it already and it runs great after everything I've cleaned and changed.
I'm amazed how long the older ones last. They just don't seem to rust. I see some of the really old ones around here in Chicago where they get subjected to salt in the winter, etc., and even the cars that are 15 and 20 years old have no rust on them.
I like the V70R. I'm jeolous

Even on this side of the world (South Africa) you don't see that many of them and the R's are even scarcer, I have seen only one (and yes I do want one
). It's only the new S40's and V50's you see around every corner.
