Default 2011 XC60 oil leak, overheated and runs rough

Ok so I'm looking at maybe buy a 2011 xc60 with the 3.2L engine. The guy said the head gasket is blown. I don't know much about the 3.2 but I don't think that is an issue with these?
When I looked at it I noticed lot of oil under the engine. Asked the guy the story on the car. He said it is his son car and he traveled a lot. He said it did have a oil leak and he planed on fixing it when he got a chance but he kept topping it off. One day it over headed and he pulled over and turned it off. Had it towed home where it sit now. I'm sure the PVC system is probably clogged. I started the car and it had a rough idle and almost acted like it wanted to die. Oil level was good (don't mean anything) coolant reservoir was a little low.
I do all my own work on cars but I don't know this engine at all. Could this be a "easy fix" or could the head gasket be bad?

If the engine overheated badly you could have a damaged cylinder head. Before purchase I would use a combustion gas leak detector on the cooling system to see if there is a breach of combustion into the cooling system. If there is a head gasket problem - you might want to investigate the special tools you will need to get the head on and off. And find a machine shop that can properly straighten the head (not just resurface)

Of course there could be more extensive damage. I have purchased overheated cars from my customers several times. (when they did not desire to spend the cost of repairs) Always hoping to fix it for much less than it would have costed the customer - then I purchase a car for a head gasket repair and find the pistons are damaged! Oops didn't factor that into the budget!

One word of caution on that engine. There is no oil pressure warning system. The pressure sensing switch that is on ALL engines (except this one) that will turn on the red warning dash light when oil pressure is below 7 psi. The FoMoCo/Volvo/landrover 6 cyl 3.0 and 3.2 DOES NOT HAVE A LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT SWITCH. There is an oil level sensor - that I have seen fail many times. So an engine with an oil leak - that won't warn you when it's so low that there is no pressure. That's a recipe for a replacement used engine.

Thank you for the reply. I had decided to not buy the car because I started thinking about the worst-case scenario plus other stuff I could run into. If the maintenance was put off what else could I run into with the drive train right. Even if I got a junk yard engine that could bring its own issues.
Guy wanted 3500 for it. I figure the time and money that could end up into it wasn't worth it.
Crazy how lot these cars they make with no oil pressure gauge or light. I remember the Mercedes E55 AMG had the same thing. Is there a place on the engine you could add a oil pressure gauge?
