2013 XC60 front end popping sound
I have a 2013 XC 60 AWD with 79k miles. Recently it started making a regular popping sound at low speeds. The sound is in regular intervals "pop, pop, pop..." and sounds almost like the locking mechanism on a lift. It only comes on after the car has been driven for a bit (30-60 miles). It only happens at low speeds less than 10 mph, such as when starting from a red light or pulling into driveway. It goes away at higher speeds. When it happens there is same play in the steering. It feels as if something is catching. I have looked under the car and can't find anything caught under it. I have reviewed the forums and taken it to my local independent Volvo mechanic. We did localize it to the front driver side of the car, but everything else seems ok. We have not been able to identify a culprit. I am looking for any idea as to what's causing this. Has anyone experienced something similar?
Things that have been done:
Checked engine mounts, joints and bushings on a lift.
Greased the break pads. (I think there was a technical bulletin about this).
Removed drive shaft. (AWD driving as a FWD)
Replaced tie rod end.
I can upload a video of it can help.

This is just a wild guess, but it could be the CV joints.
Also, the ABS often self checks by pulsing the brakes. It MIGHT be this as well.
Of these two, CV joints are not a known or regular issue, but the ABS is known to make this sound. But these are just guesses. Sorry I could not be of more help.
