2014 has a Camera that’s never been very good quality.


now in the 90 degree heat it’s not only flickering and looking like the lens is broken (it isn’t) but we’ve also seen a blue screen of death with a camera logo abd red line through it.

is the camera itself? Or something else?

what is this going to cost to repair?

 

This is known issue with the rear cameras.

I believe someone else has posted the fix, but I cannot remember exactly what it was. It involves putting some kind of small device on the wires from the camera that helps to limit the brightness, which causes the issue.

Hopefully someone will post the exact solution.

 

I don't know the cost to repair but my best bet would take it to volvo and they can tell u what exactly the problem is my guess as I've come across this issue before is wiring for camera to infotainment system is somehow screwed up. I haveb 2016 xc60 awd and when I Reverse the back up camera doesn't come on I think it's something my settings I need to fix if I have the back up camera. Hope u get ya issue resolved 😊

has not only completely eliminated flicker, killed the Blue screen of death but also improved the poor quality video signal. Five minutes fix.

I thought the last part was my imagination, but if the wife says so without prompting, she must be right.

Tested the fix to 102degree F temperatures and all is well.
