2014 XC60 downshifting?

I just bought a 2014 XC60 T6 AWD that has 22k miles on it. I have never driven an AWD car so I may just be ignorant but I'm noticing that when taking my foot off the gas down a hill the car slows down. When I take my foot off the gas on a flat stretch the car will slow significantly and downshift. It's not a severe downshift, but pretty noticeable. It almost feels as if I would roll to a stop eventually. Is this just how an AWD drives where it feels like the transmission is constantly engaged? Upshifts are also fairly noticeable in low gears but again may just be me. I'm just used to 2WD cars that maintain and even pick up speed without applying the accelerator.
I'm still under factory warranty and intend to take it to a dealer to get it fully checked out in any event but I thought I would ask if this is normal or could be an issue.
