I've noticed an oil consumption trend with my 2015.5 T5. The first few years I owned it it would generally indicate low oil after 8k or so miles. I'd top off with a quart and it was fine until the 10k oil change. Over the years this 8k number worked it's way down to 7k, then 6k, and now closer to 5k. Also, the frequency of having to top off is increasing. The first 1qt topoff is needed at 5k miles, but next is needed about 2k miles later, and then the 3rd after only 1k miles. Is it expected that the consumption rate goes up as the oil gets older? Is my oil consumption rate pretty normal? I know there are issues with some Volvos burning like a qt every 500 miles, even with fresh oil, so clearly my car doesn't fall into that category. Thanks.

 

I should add that the car used to get 5w30 until around 65k miles when it was switched to 0w20 because Volvo switched the recommended oil viscosity.
