Hi there, I have been looking for a vehicle to replace my 2016 rdx. I hike a lot and want something I can take off roading. I am not going to be doing extreme off roading but definitely need something that can handle 4wd roads, loose gravel, rocks, and that has good clearance. I have looked at a lot of different vehicles and came across a 2016 XC60 with 60000 kms. I had a Volvo S60 and had nothing but problems with it so I am nervous about going with a Volvo to be honest. I like the 2016 because it has higher ground clearance than later models although I am disappointed by the interior controls, nav etc. I don't want to go with the XC90 as it is bigger than I need. So my big question is how much do I need to be concerned about maintenance/reliability etc with this vehicle. Thanks!

I wouldn't equate a past experience with a new car. There are known issues with early 2000 S60s that are long corrected. If reliability is paramount, you may be better off in a Hundai or Toyota. If you want some nice style and comfort in a SUV format, the XCs are worth lookng at. Just make sure you get the full maintenance history and have the car professionally inspected before buying. You can also invest in an extended warranty (basically an insurance policy) if you are concerned about a big ticket repair.
