Default Am I the only one who hates my new Volvo?

I just bought a 2025 XC60 this week and I totally despise the car! Am the only one? It took 4 hrs to pair the phone ( salesman couldn’t do it either). He told me to take it home and let it “ rest” overnight and try again. Now I know why he said that. Apparently TN has a policy that once you drive the car off the lot you can’t change your mind! What a crook! I assumed we had a 3 day clause like most states but no! Finally my son got it working the next day but it still keeps randomly not working. Now I have no sound. I called the not very helpful call button and she said the whole system needs to be rebooted but she couldn’t figure how! I have had this car less than a week and I’m about to go insane. Is anyone else having these issues?

how bad is your life if something that trivial is pushing you over the edge? Take a few deep breaths and get a grip on your life. Seriously.

wow, thanks for your help and understanding.🙄
I don’t think it’s being to unreasonable to expect if your paying $55,000 for a car that you would be able to make and receive calls, be able to listen to your music, or have your maps work. This info system does not work right. I’m simply wanting to know if anyone else has had this trouble? How did they resolve it? It is suppose to be apple and Android compatible but mine clearly is not. All help button person said to do was reboot the system. I’ve done that. It helps for a moment but then everything quits working again.

sounds like your issue is with the dealer more so than Volvo. I can understand a sales person not knowing the nuances of pairing a phone but the service manager should be able to help. I'd also ask the service manager to make sure that all of the appropriate software updates have been applied. You have a new car that's under warranty - so get the dealer to work for you, and if not ask for contacts with Volvo USA support (not the 800# - an escalation contact).

While my level of dislike for my new XC60 doesn’t raise to your level of ire, I am very disappointed in the new vehicle. For reference, I owned a 2015 XC60 for the last 10 years and truly enjoyed driving it. It was the reason I bought a new one. This vehicle is trying to be too clever by half and as a result is an epic electronics failure. After an hour long session at the dealer to get our profiles and phones to all work together nicely, about a week later it all stopped associating, i.e. the key no longer moves the seat and mirrors to my chosen and saved setting. The heat and cooling requires taking eyes off the road to open a screen to adjust the temperature, and only in 2 degree intervals (why?). Select the radio and you have to push the play button. If I didn’t want the radio to play I wouldn’t have selected it! Recently, I started driving the car and heat was needed, as it was quite cold outside. When the car warmed up, the heat came pouring out of the upper vents and not down by my feet. Why? Everything was in AUTO on the climate page. Is this how they think we want our heat? A day later I was backing out of the driveway at night and just before reaching the sidewalk the car emergency braking was activated. I truly thought I had run over a child on a bike or hit a pedestrian! I got out of the car and there was NOTHING either way on either the sidewalk or the street. Shortly thereafter on another drive, when I selected Reverse, the screen said, “Camera is temporarily unavailable”. It didn’t work for several days until I did the reboot of the whole system on the button under the screen. This, on a car that has less than 1000 miles on it.
It’s an attractive car from the outside and the ride and handling are still great. How I wish I could get an XC60 without all the “helpful” automation.

The Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) "cooling-off rule" protects consumers from high-pressure sales tactics in certain situations, but it doesn't apply to car purchases.

There is no 3 day cooling off period when you purchase a new car. Not sure why you think there is. I purchased an XC60 in late November, and it took 5 minutes to pair my phone and my wife's phone. Easy as pie. You might need to do a reset on the screen or something like that.
