Cracks on the tyre are an issue?
Yes, I would not drive those on a long expressway trip. I'd bet if you find the date code - they are pretty old.
Anyhow - I've been chewed out by customers - after I did a "trip check" and did not notify them they had cracks - a tire failed on their trip, and they were not happy.

6-year-old tires, that is probably dry rot. I wouldn't drive on them if it were my car. Tires don't just wear from road use, the environment also breaks them down. I've never kept tires on a vehicle longer than 5 years, even if they have usable tread.
