Does anyone know if the the 2011 XC60 Roof Rails simply pop off or do they have to be unscrewed from inside under the roof liner (the body shop wants to charge me $1k to do this)?

My roof rails clear coat is starting to peel and I want to replace them with new rails as opposed to having them re painted.

My local Volvo dealer doesn't have a clue about how these are removed/installed...
