Question Engine check light of xc60

hello.

I live in Seoul, Korea. so I am not good at English, feel sorry.

I wonder it is normal to engine check light is on when key position is level II.

On key position II, other lamp go on and off for a little.

But engine check light continue to turn on.

Is it OK?

when you are in key position II, all the warning lamps should light as a way of testing the bulbs. Once you start the car, they will go out in a short amount of time. If your check engine light stays on when you start to drive then you need to use an OBD2 code reader to scan for fault codes stored in the car's ECU. Note that the check engine light is different from the service interval light which lights when its time for scheduled maintenance. That light will stay on when the engine starts, but will turn off after a few minutes. Check the owners manual to see which light is the check engine and which is the service indicator.
