Haldex 5 Oil Change (2016 D5 XC60)
Hi everyone, first post.
I recently purchased a 2016 D5 AWD XC60 that has done 90,000 miles.
I've recently given it a service, and I'm thinking it would be a good idea to change the oil for the Haldex 5 system.
Does anyone know what oil is best to use?
I've been looking around online and I've found these two options:
1. Volvo Genuine Transmission Oil: https://haldexparts.co.uk/products/31367940-volvo-coupling-oil-for-awd
2. MANNOL AWD Synthetic Haldex Fluid Oil: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304066050132
Is the first option the correct oil from Volvo for the Haldex system on my car? If so, would 1L be enough?
I don't mind paying a little extra for OEM, but if there is a direct non-branded equivalent I'd happy to go for that instead.
Any advice would be appreciated!

After some research I can confirm that this is the correct oil for the Haldex 5 system on a 2016 XC60: MANNOL AWD Getriebeoel 8100
The Volvo specification is 31367940, and this oil has the same spec.
You can get this for about £12 on eBay, as opposed to £39 for the Volvo branded oil.
1L was also enough. It only took about 500-600ml to replace the oil.

My 2016 XC60 started to drive a little rough - almost felt like a wheel bearing was gone but the vibration could be felt through the seats along with the steering wheel. I knew it was something else.
My local mechanic did refer to some item linked to the rear diff and gave it a quick clean one Friday - to be looked at again.
He also advised that I take the car to a main dealer - they said the power steering pump was the issue. I felt they were wrong and asked to go for a test drive with the tech who said the pump was the issue.
He changed his mind after the test drive - with me pointing out that the vibration/rough drive was still there even when driving in a straight line (no pressure on the pump).
I didn't risk wasting money on the pump. Main dealer couldn't find the issue but was happy to charge for the inspection. The report told me about all the things that I would need in the future but no mention of the Haldex.
I mentioned the Haldex to them before the inspection and asked that it be checked but they never did.
After reading posts online, I (note that I know very little about these systems) asked my local mechanic to change the oil for the transfer box, rear diff and Haldex clutch. It was worth a shot. Made more sense than changing the power steering pump!
I ordered Hochleis-tungsol fur Haldex-Kupplun (High performance oil for Haldex coulping) febi 101172 for about €20 plus shipping online. Even though on a web chat, they said it would be delivered in time for my local mechanic time slot, it wasn't.
Luckily, I paid Volvo main dealer for their Volvo labelled Transmission Oil 31367940 - which was about €50. They were happy for me to return if I didn't use it. I had to use it though as the febi 101172 didn't arrive on time.
When I tried to order from main dealer they told me that the Haldex was contained in the rear diff and used the same oil as the rear diff. I don't think I managed to convince them that the oil in the Haldex was different.
The only way I was able to get the correct oil from them was to mention 31367940.
My local mechanic used 75W90 GL 5 for the rear diff and transfer box - he said the oil in both was actually OK but he changed it anyway.
He also cleaned the Haldex clutch and changed the oil in that - using Volvo labelled Transmission Oil 31367940.
To say the car drives like new would be an understatement.
I cannot believe the difference it has made. Cleaning the Haldex clutch and changing the oil was the fix. The car is now as smooth as silk!
I went to France for 2 weeks and clocked up some long journeys - it has been fully road tested - it's still perfectly smooth on the road.
It was unbelievable to that main dealer didn't check the Haldex despite me mentioning it. To suggest the power steering pump needed to be changed at €530 ex VAT plus labour was horrendous.
So.......for anyone with an AWD, have your Haldex clutch serviced by someone who knows what they are doing!
Thank you to previous posters for steering me in the right direction!
