I'm installing a dash cam in my wife's XC60. It's a FitCamX, which integrates pretty well with the front camera. That's in with no issues other than wrestling with the carpet for fuse box access.
Anyway, I'm installing a rear camera, and wanted to check with you all as I'm in need of advice on how to proceed. I've run the cable for the rear camera down the a-pillar, and through the frame rail (apologies if the nomenclature is incorrect) below the front and rear doors. this avoids all the airbags there. The cable runs inside the body next to the rear seat, and there I'm at a halt.
I need to run the cable inside the body to the roof, and can't see how to move the panel at the side of the cargo area, or the panels on the rear pillar of the car. If someone has experience on how to pull these panels, or can send a diagram or instructions on how to do that, I'd be appreciative
.
I installed this same camera on my XC90 last week, and that went pretty well. Hopefully you can advise me on how to get through this last bit and then wifey will have front and rear cameras looking out for her.
