Looking to purchase a 2010 XC60- Questions
This forum looks pretty quiet but I'll try anyways...
Looking at purchasing a 2010 XC-60. There are 2 we're currently looking at. A T6, and a regular 3.2. Both are very clean, very well taken care of. Full service records for both, and both are right at 110,000mi. I'm new to Volvo so I don't know much about these cars at all, other than what I've read from searching on here. My concern is with costs if something (anything) breaks. With no warranty it sounds like things could add up fast. Is there anything in particular to look out for with these model years? General consensus on these vehicles?
Sounds like the windshield leaking is a very common problem, but I haven't been able to find much else.
Thanks for any info!

Any chance you can get full service records on either one? That is always key to me. Also, ask for a print out of the warranty history. A car that has been in for warranty repairs 10 times during the warranty period will likely continue to be a problem car vs one that was in only once or twice. Was there a timing belt due ~105K? If so was it done? Unless you are skilled at evaluating used cars get a 3rd party inspection checking for mechanical issues as well as any indication of accident repairs, especially if they were done poorly. As for repair and maintenance cost, yes it will be higher than a comparable Japanese model, but there are savings to be had that make it tolerable between DIY and independent Volvo specialty repair shops. Using an independent Volvo specialty shop will generally save you 20-30% depending on the service and most decent sized cities have at least one.
