Default Lost item down an air vent

I’m hoping for some help/suggestions. We have lost a set of AirPods down the air vent under the driver seat of our 2017 xc60 - an unfortunate series of events where they were dropped on the floor then had to break suddenly and they disappeared down the vent. Is there any hope of retrieving them? TIA

Hi,
For sure there is hope. First you may try to retrieve them using telescopic magnetic tool (like the one found on Amazon:
Amazon Amazon
).
If that doesn't work, you'll have to remove driver seat, then lift carpet and partially disassemble air vent ducts. Not a big deal, but takes some time to do it (and basic skils with tools). Before removing seat, you'll have to disconnect cables that are attached to it, and there is a "possibility" to trigger airbag - so best practice is to disconnect battery first.

can you fit a small hose in there? If you have a shop vac or similar, I'd try sucking it out with a hose - just put some screening in the air path to keep them from going into the debris canister.
