Default Driver and passanger air vent in center consle`

MY air vents the passanger and driver air vents that is in the center console have broken. My dealer said they'd have to pull out the entire dash in order to replace that well i decided to get a second optionion from myself i have been able to pull it out without a problem as a matter of fact it just pops right on. one could proabably do it with the most primitive tools. That said i need to order the peice its the peice that has the air vents and the 4 way flasher button on it does anyone know where i can order this from. Also i want to get some coustom floor mats like i got for my two S80's that said S80 on the all of the mats does anyone know where i can get those as well. I would like to be able to order the air vent on line but will go to the nearest place in CT for the mats. You can eiter email me pm or leave a message here with an answer to my questions. Thank you in advance for your response and your help towards resolving my problem

Default how to remove the a/c vent cover

Hi,

I need to remove the vent cover as one of the slats of the vent cover is broken and looks like the metal strip holding the slats has been dislodged. How hard is it to remove the vent cover? Do you have to press down any clasps to pop it open?

thanks

gantid, All you really need is a flat head screw driver to remove the vent cluster with the hazard button just carefully wedge a flat-head into the side and work it up and it should pop off after you get it off its pretty easy to see how to take it apart and put it back together as to getting another peice i have no idea as to where because of course no one has relpied or told us so i have made a temporary fix for the time being with some zip ties. Also while i have everyones attention did you know about the 2004 xc90 Transmission problems. Apparently one of the enginners decided to go cheap and put in a GM transmission thats only rated for a 180HP engine on a 240HP engine long story short the transmissions go. If yours should go volvo will personally pick up the bill if you take it to a volvo dealer. This is even if you are out of your wareenty

Water leaks!! I have an '04 XC90 with over 114,000 mostly trouble-free miles, but a couple of significant downpours have caused water to collect in the front passenger well, and now the car sloshes—water in the right rocker panel, it sounds like. The water seems to leak down the a-pillar. Has anybody experienced this, and how do you get the water out?

It is critical that you don't break the retainer clips inside. Follow this great pictorial http://www.justanswer.com/volvo/59dbq-volvo-xc90-3-2-remove-dash-center-air-vent-assembly.html

no one is going to sell something like that new except the dealer. for used try ebay or a junkyard that specializes in swedish cars (there are a few in the US that will ship).
