I've had a new xc60 R-design 22 model since the 2nd April, 22, which I decided to obtain through their Subscription program (3months) - as a long-term test drive, before deciding to buy one (or something else) at the end of the Summer).

Unfortunately, the only Map that returns direction is for my current city, Cambridge.
Following Volvo supports advise I have:
#1. updated the to the latest software release, 11th April,
#2. performed a hard reboot of the infosystem "holding down the HOME button' for 10 seconds.
- = no improvements?
(Volvo's decision to not support Apple Carplay (50% market share / compared to Google's 2%) is beyond me!)

Suggestions welcome and much appreciated.

 

This is an endemic problem in the 2022 Volvos. You can check out threads on this topic over on Swedespeed. The GPS goes out quite a bit on these vehicles. One culprit has presumably identified as a leaking shark antenna (rear roof), but that does not appear to be the only source of the problem.
