Hi there. I have just purchased a 2012 Xc60 lux premium car. The car was purchased with a premium sat Nav with 2lifetime updates. The previous owner purchased the car from volvo select. No updates were done during this time. I have contacted volvo dealerships who inform me the updates were for the original purchaser who owned the car for 6months. My hope is the updates go with the car as does the breakdown cover I have inherited due to its last service done by volvo. They have offered me a software update for £90 so I can update maps myself. Any info would be kindly appreciated.

 

I think that's what they are offering me for £90. I was hoping they might do the software update instead of providing dvds as part of the 2 lifetime updates.

 

What they told you sounds true.
According to Volvo's online support site, your car requires a software update then you can install the latest maps yourself.

But I wonder if an independent Volvo repair shop can provide you the update for a better price.
