All of a sudden the other day a piece was missing off my rear bumper, on the right side. I'm attaching a picture. Does anyone know what this is? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thank you for any comments/suggestions.

Likely tow hook cover.

 

Yes it is the cover for the tow hook. There have been other threads where people have complained about these covers coming off far too easily.

Yes, the OEM part can be gotten for under $30 but it comes un painted...There are some threads that folks have added zip ties to secure this part.

 

It does look weird without the cover but $30 for the OEM replacement is a ridiculous price to pay.

Also where you have your spare tire, you should notice this large tow hook that looks like a giant nail with hole. You use that to screw into that hole where you are missing your cover.

 

If your car is a 2019 and there are no marks indicating the bumper was struck or something similar, I'd call it part of Volvo's wonderful 3 yr everything warranty and take a cup of Starbucks for your service writer while he writes it up. Always worth a try when that new.

 

I just came out and went to my car and as I walked behind it, there’s a missing part from my bumper on the right side. I see that there are others that have this missing part as well. Will Volvo pay to have it fixed?

 

And who would you contact if Volvo would take care of missing part off of rear bumper thanks for any advice you might have
