New XC60 owner with Polestar upgrade!
Hello Everybody, this is my first time posting. I am a new (or at least soon to be new) Volvo XC60 owner. I purchased my XC through a military sales program and it is shipping straight from the factory to California where I will be taking delivery of it. I opted for the T6 AWD model. I wanted the R-Design but really only for the 325 hp engine. After doing some research I found out that the only difference between my standard T6 turbo engine and the R-Design flavor is a software tweak. Come to find out that missing 25 hp can be obtained through a Volvo authorized accessory developed by Polestar. When my XC60 eventually shows up in Cali I plan on getting the Polestar upgrade. From what I have read, it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to run and doesn't effect the fuel economy. Has anybody else gone through this upgrade? I'll make sure to post back with how the process went for me.

Well, I'm pleased to announce that even after the first 2K miles I'm still blown away by the performance of my car. I just pray that I get to pass somebody on the freeway when I drive now. Pushing the gear shifter over and seeing the display go from D to S starts the rush of adrenaline. Then mashing the gas peddle down and seeing the boost start to climb on my OBD2 sensor as the car launches forward even at 80 mph is just an awesome feeling. I use an app called Torque on my phone that interfaces with my OBD2 sensor to give me real time data like boost, coolant temp and other useful info. It also has a 0 to 60 measurement and I got it down to 5.9 seconds! Not too bad for a heavy *** luxury SUV. I have even added a K&N air filter to give it that extra little kick.

Wondering if you ended up doing the Polestar upgrade ?
I have a 2011 (MY12) T6 R-Design & thought I loved it. In D it was a little lethargic, in S a little twitchy.
Had the upgrade done a week ago & wow, using D is excellent & even the automatic gear changes seem smoother & better timed.
Just try to do a deal on the price - dealers seem to have some margin
