OK got a 2013 xc60 3.0 turbo and when you bring over the shifter to the left where manual shift is located (goes there fine) but shifter does not go forward or backward, it feels blocked or when pushing it forward it barely moves but if you press harder it goes a little bit forward but no gear change. My thought is that I would assume anything like shifting issues would require probably just replacing the whole shifter box assembly if say a piece broke internally and blocked it possibly. It shifts fine from park to reverse to neutral to drive and over to the left for manual shifting but no forward or backward? could i just tear it apart to see if something it blocking it or broke? like can I somewhat dismantle and still attempt to shift it to see whats blocking it? whats the big deal with all these have numerous shifter problems how bad can you screw up a part did they use zip ties and Elmer's building these shifters, pretty sad coming from someone like volvo
