Sirius XM issue
I have had a problem with Sirius XM since Saturday, where it stopped working on the radio on a 2016. I was texting with their support on Saturday since they do not have live voice communication on the weekends. They tried to help, but my XM ID was not visible on the settings page, so they used the VIN of the car. My messages were "updating channels" and "Sirius not available" The technician resent signals to try to update without success. Finally they provided an Advanced Technical Support number, which also was not available on the weekend. I spoke with Advanced Support, and they stated that this is a known issue and they would call be back at the end of the week.
Is anyone else having an issue with their Sirius radio? or why the ID does not appear ? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have had the exact same issue on my 2015 Volvo S60 since Monday October 9th. I spoke with two people at SiriusXM. The last person said something about a Sun issue with the satellite and Volvos, which doesn’t sound very believable. She said it should be fixed by today, but of course, it’s not.

2015 xc70 Seius suddenly lost Serius ID and can't resolve
Exact same issue and went through the exact same trouble shooting ditty with Serius. They admit they do not know if it is Volvo SW or their SW. No ETA on fix. Supposed to get callback update on fix status in 72 hrs. I am not confident as they seem totally lost.

About a year ago, we started having increasingly worse problems with our 2017 and the Sirius receiver. It started having increasing problems acquiring signal until it finally was completely unable to acquire signal. I replaced the sirius receiver module under/behind the back seat and it corrected the problem immediately. In the process we had to contact sirius to switch the account to use the new receiver ID. An additional and probably unnecessary step was to have the dealer hook it up to VIDA and make sure the software levels were up to date. The receiver was a three or four hundred dollars and if you have the dealer replace the part you will pay double or more. Good luck.

I just had same issue on 2016 XC60. Stopped dead on Saturday the 7th of October. Called Sirius and they said it was a known Volvo problem that they didn't have a fix for yet. They tried to resend the signal and of course it did not work. So I disconnected the battery on the vehicle for 10 minutes to reset all the control modules of the car and IT WORKED!!!!!! So If you are one of the lucky ones that this has happened to, give it a go. Cheers

Thanks everyoone for your replies. Not sure who is a fault i.e. Sirius or Volvo? Thanks eroc0808 I will give it a try once I get the vehicle back from having the engine rebuild due to the oil consumption issue that was covered under the extended warranty (thank goodness). That work was suppose to occur last spring, but parts were on backorder and we went back north for the summer, and returned to Florida two weeks ago.. Thanks.

Well it looks like I'm in good company My wife's 2015 XC70 started to drop the signal around 11:00am ET on 10/8. We were in the car when it happened. At first I didn't think too much about it as we were entering into a covered parking garage. I have been on the phone with Sirius about 8 times since then. We've tried multiple resets, reset to default settings for the car, and even canceled and reactivated the account. The latest update I have is that the Sirius engineers are working with Volvo to determine the root cause of the issue. I was going to take the car into the dealer to have them run diagnostics but since it seems a lot of us are having the exact same issue starting at the same time then it may be an issue with Sirius. My 2017 XC60 is working fine (knock on wood!)
Maybe they need to add sunglasses for the satellites!
The car also was in for service for the piston replacement issue a couple of weeks prior..... Unless we have all had service in the past month I'd say that is not a contributing factor.

Sirius not available no ID #
The issue started yesterday on my wifes 2016 S60 . No Sirius, refresh signal did not work and the radio ID was gone. Just was updating and than saying Sirius unavailable. I called as was told to contact technical support on Mon.because they could not resolve the issue. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes reconnected it and Sirius is now working.
Disconnecting the battery solved the problem for me.

Sirius problems XC 60
[QUOTE=Eugene J Bruschi;527742]Disconnect the battery![/QUOTE
I have had the same issues reported in this thread since October 8. Last week, after not using my Volvo for a number of days, it was dead. The battery was only 3 years old, so I’d say this was a premature battery failure. I’m concerned that the Sirius radio issue drained and ruined the battery. After replacing the battery, the Sirius worked—that is until tonight. Now it’s back to “updating channels” and “Sirius unavailable “. It appears the trick of disconnecting the battery is only a temporary fix. My concern is that my battery will die again. Any thoughts? I’m ready to cancel my subscription to save my battery.
