Hey guys, I’m hearing an almost grinding noise coming from the passenger side of my 2010 XC60 and it’s starting to concern me. It only happens when in either neutral while revving the engine and while driving after I take my foot off the accelerator. Not sure if this is related, but I’m also hearing a hard hit from the same side when going over bumpy terrain (almost like the strut is out). I uploaded a video of this noise, but if you can’t hear it, just ask away. Thanks for any help!

 

how many miles on the car and which engine? Have you any vibrations and clucks that would suggest a motor mount issue? Have you listened around the nose of the engine with the hood open to see if you can hear something around the serpentine belts? I didn't see an attachment for the vid file - just make sure you convert to AVI format as the board doesn't accept MP4s.

 

it is a T6 engine with 153k miles. I have listened around the engine from the outside and you hear no types of noises when you can hear them on the inside. And I tried uploading it again, but if it doesn’t work, here is the imgur link

I actually had what I believe was the same issue and we fixed it by getting the lower motor mount replaced
