I have a XC60 2014 3.0L and the system code is reading too lean, not sure if its the fuel pump, injectors, vaccume lines or other lines. any suggestions?

 

most likely its an intake air leak. First order of business is to inspect vaccuum lines, intake air boots / tubing. You can spray around with carb cleaner to see if it sucks in anywhere and bumps the idle. If nothing obvious shows, a smoke test may be required. Not likely the fuel pump but could be the pressure sensor. A fuel pressure test would be in order - and a proper scan from a full feature diagnostics system like VIDA DICE would help. Injectors are not a common fail item but you can try throwing in a can of Techron with your next tank of gas or run a few tankfuls of a brand name (ie Mobil/Exxon/Sunoco etc) 93 octane to see if the detergents cleaning the fuel system helps. Have you tried clearing the code and seeing how soon the code resets?

 

No i havent cleared the code, ill do that today and see what happens. If not ill def try those suggestions, thanks. Ill repost when i do.
