Default Timers

So the Timers tab - what’s this for as there is nothing in it?

You can set advanced timers to pre-heat the car. They can be made recurring. Although my app keeps forgetting the recurring ones. I fear this is another android automotive bug.

maybe a software update as mine is still happily sat on 1.7 and I know 1.8 is available with V2 coming in Feb. So we shall see

The timers are in the app not on the car screen. Do you see them there??

Default Timers in App

When you sign into the Volvo app & hit the climate icon (the little fan) the timer set should be on the right side.

Default Timers 2

It allows you to choose how long you want the car to run for before you get in and actually start it. You just scroll within & hit start. I thought it was odd at first too, but the whole new interface is odd to me. I had a 2021 XC60 that was flooded & totaled and it had the old system. It was much better, IMO.

I don't have the timers option on my app version and supposedly it is the most current version. On my Lincoln app, I could set up timers for a one-time start at a specifici time and day or set up a daily timer to start at the same time every day, etc. With this Volvo app, I can only start the car now...no way to set a timer for the future.

I have not been able to get the timers to work either through the app (android) or through the infotainment system in the car (climate>parking>add timer) as per the directions in the user manual. Volvo support told me today that "pre conditioning" is only available on the T8 engine. Has anyone with a 22' with a B5 or B6 been able to set a timer for preconditioning?

Default Timers on B5

I have a 22 B5 and the timers are there. I am not sure if it came with the. 1.7 update or 1.8 because I still had the old app from my totaled 21 T5, so I had to update the app. Super aggravating (especially since I bought the 21 in late March & it was flooded in Sept. 21). Anyway. I have to say, The rep at Volvo on call was super nice and helpful and walked me through the process. I had done the 1.8 update, but the app wasn’t allowing me to remote start the car.

nope, just got my 2022 B5 AWD inscription 2 days ago and there is no option for preconditioning setup within my infotainment system. Software is up to date.

I see the same. '22 B6 R-Design. I wonder if it is only available on the recharge models. May try Volvo on call tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if preconditioning is different from auto start? Support told me that preconditioning is only available on on the T8 (although I have asked for documentation showing this and not received a response back) so if there is a difference I should still hopefully have auto start once they get the android app working.

If you pull out your original window sticker, you'll be able to see what features were standard and what you got as options.
Mine is a '21 T8 but shows everything I have. Under the Audio & Technology category, it lists "Volvo On Call with 4-Yr Complimentary Subscription Incl Mobile App w/Remote Start & Send to Car". That was under standard equipment with the XC60 Recharge T8 Inscription model.
