Turbocharger bust for XC60 Drive Diesel 2010
Hi,
I have a XC60 Drive Diesel model 2010 with around 90,000 km on it. Recently the car was not accelerating as it would before and today the mechanics found the problem to be with the Turbocharger and that needs replacement. I am living in Germany and the volvo dealership quoted the price at €1400. I was wondering if i could get a brand new original turbocharger for a good price.
Any suggestion would be welcomed.
I also want to know what could be the cause of a trubocharger failure?

Generally turbos can fail when their seals go (they leak oil etc), or a bearing goes but 90K miles is pretty young. There are rebuild kits for seals and you can swap out impellers but you'd need to pull the turbo out to have a look first.
