Good Morning everyone, I am new to the Volvo family, I have had mine for just over a year now however now that the weather in Canada is starting to get colder, I am hoping someone knows of a way I can start my car and still lock the doors. I do have 2 keys but once the car is started it does not let me lock the doors... with all the car theft going on, I don't feel comfortable leaving my car started in the driveway. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated..

Do you have a 6 button PCC keyless drive remote? Where the key does not have to be placed in the slot for the car to start and the doors unlock if key is in your pocket and handle is pulled?
If so you MIGHT have remote start software installed. If below does not work check with volvo to see if remote start software can be installed on your year.
To start the car remotely with remote in range - less than 60 feet.
1.press the lock button - ts flashes
2. Press and hold puddle light button (light bulb on remote below lock button) for 4 seconds. The signals flash 4 or 5 times and engine starts. It will run for 2 - 15 minutes periods. You can program (on some cars) the seat, steering wheel heaters and rear defrost to come on below 50? degrees and I belive the ACC system will heat or cool the car to 72 degrees if was set to AUTO before turning car off.
After 2 remote starts an unlock and normal start with key present inside car is required.
Looking at the Volvo accessory catalog finds the bottom picture - remote start is not listed for a 2011 xc60 - or any other 2011 Volvo https://accessories.volvocars.com/
