Hey Community Members,

Got upgraded to new software version v2.2 recently. Can see apple car play but could not connect my android phone via android auto. Is the feature still missing or is there any way of activating it. Understand its android platform head unit but still android auto can be helpful.

Plz guide and help.

 

Picked mine up recently. Was told that the likelihood of Volvo adding Android Auto functionality is very low. More likely that additional apps currently not available in Android Automotive (Waze is what I was looking for) will trickle in with forthcoming software updates. I've been waiting to update my phone based on this, and may revert back to ask iPhone as CarPlay functionality is up and running.

 

I am also wanting either Waze as an app on the center screen, or Android Auto so I can get Waze from my phone.

 

I was under the impression that apps will need to be made available for the in-car Android Automotive head unit and that the "Android Auto" mobile app is going away after Android 12. I would actually prefer Volvo adding Waze as an available app on the center screen (like Spotify is now.) But I would settle for using my phone through Android Auto if that is the only way to get Waze. Since Google owns Waze and the XC60 OS is Google, I don't understand why Android phone users currently have no way to get Waze. The dealer confirmed yesterday that only iPhone users can get Waze on the '22 XC60s at this time. I am not happy, (although I love the car.)

 

Does anyone know if / how you can split screen Google Automotive? Would like to have GMaps on the top half and Spotify on the lower half if possible. I think Google Auto can, which seems like a better experience overall than Automotive...
