Vovlo 2022 XC60 - $60,000 Headache?
My wife and I have owned several Volvo's over the years. Before purchasing a 2022 XC60 I've read many threads which document major issues with the infotainment system. I'm a big apple car play user and this feature is a deal breaker for me. I also would be using many of he apps on the infotainment system. I'm not interested in paying over $60,000 and becoming a beta tester for Volvo and Google.
Are there 2022 XC60 owners that have gotten past these issues without going to the dealer and spending allot of time applying updates?
Maybe its time for me to move to the Lexus RX 350 which doesn't seem to have these issues and has better reliability scores.
P.S. Apple Car Play was introduced in 2014. Why hasn’t Volvo properly integrated this tecnology into their infotainment system?

Got our 2022 XC60 Recharge ER last May. I’ve previously mentioned it broke within one month (wouldn’t start, lock, release charging cord, etc.), but got the software “patched” up in one day and was good to go…until last week when the next shoe dropped. Maps wouldn’t work, computer screen went blank, car wouldn’t lock, couldn’t change back into Pure from Hybrid, and wouldn’t start in middle of massive Chicago rush hour traffic jam (I foolishly thought if I turned the car off, since everyone was stopped anyway, I could restart and get it back into Pure and enjoy the electric when it counted most). Silly me. Fortunately, after 5 or so minutes of trying to start it in every mode, taking out a lane with my flashers on, and no doubt “improving” everyone’s day behind me (felt like 5 hours), I got it to start in Power and left it there until I got to work. It then worked fine in Pure for the next several days, but really??? Took it in today to get the next software “fix” and also the 2.2 and 2.3 updates. I asked the service manager if they were seeing as many issues with the EV/PHEV that you read about in the forums and I got a look like 🥴. Shame on you Volvo. I’m curious to see how these updates work. Will report. But another bad experience that’s definitely given me buyer’s remorse which I’ve never had with a new car and I’ve had a bunch. Hope it goes away. It’s a beautiful, smooth automobile, but c’mon, it’s gotta work consistently. Sad to say I have little expectation it will. Fingers still crossed.
I have a 2022 XC60 Inscription B5 - except for having to replace the TCAM module it is generally working well. However, I went to the dealer last week for installation of Ver 2.3 of the system and they were not able to do it. They said they were holding back due to some unspecified glitches. Volvo is obviously still struggling with poor Quality control and Quality assurance on their software. I hope they recognize the serious impact this is having on current and potential Volvo customers. No apologies from Volvo and no extension of the vehicle warranty despite the issues. I would think the latter is the least they could do for customers dealing with issues

My advice is to RUN don’t walk away from any and all Volvos.
My attorney is proceeding on a lemon law claim based upon the numerous items listed in the above statements. Volvo has lost their way and is not even worthy of being compared to a 1978 ford Pinto which was one of the worst cars on the planet.
if you purchase any of the newer Volvos you will need a reliable spare car while the POS Volvo is in the repair shop for days weeks or months on end.
Try and get a service appointment and when they say first available is 2 months out, ask yourself Why?
whether my attorney is successful or not I will be out of this car in the near future. Losing $20k is better than losing my mind.
BUYER BEWARE!!!! Volvo just plain sucks.
