xc60 cant reset after oil change
hi i recently had an oil change done at my local garage and informed them of the fact it needs a synthetic oil, however when it came back the service warning light still came on so i tried to reset it but with no joy, i'm wondering if they used the wrong oil if so would it cause a problem thanks for any advise John

The service reminder simply comes on every x miles or x time - it does not know or care if anything has been done to the car.
So the reset procedure works any time you want it to. I never could get the push button cars to reset without using VIDA or a fancy scan tool I have - my techs could do it easily with just their finger.

There may be several problems - a faulty oil pressure sensor, an oil filter, or poor quality oil, there may also be problems with the oil pump, it is better to check everything. Many breakdowns can be caused by low-quality oil, it is a breakdown of the oil pump and oil filter, so I advise you to use trusted brands. I use 10W-30 oils, Shell Rotella, you can see the best oil manufacturers and choose the one that suits you.

Sure I use VIDA to reset service lights on some later cars. I've downloaded and tried the finger push method for the cars without a physical key- but could never get the timing or sequence correct.

For push button car, without out your foot on the pedal for this entire process, press the push start quickly to enter ACC mode. Now hold the "OK" button the end of the turn signal stalk, and while holding, press and hold the start button for several seconds until you see an orange triangle flash on the dash. It takes longer than you think it would, like 5-8 seconds. Check service status to confirm it got reset. Turn off when done.

Well, my wife came home and the car has no push button, I keep forgetting about it... it's the rotary ****. So nothing I tried can erase that "i" and short of driving to dealer I don't know what else to do. Would anyone else have any suggestions for 2021 xc60?

That did it! Thanks everyone!
So the things I did wrong, and hopefully it will help others:
1. The door had to be closed (I buckled up too, but probably wasn't needed).
2. Despite watching the video multiple times I didn't realize that "flashing i" and "i that flashed (like appeared)" are not the same thing. I kept releasing the cruise control after seeing "i". Do not! It will go away, then it will appear again, and then it will start flashing. Wait at least 1-2 seconds before releasing the "-" button.
