XC60 D5- fuel consumption

We purchased a xc60 D5 R design 2 years ago.
Fuel consumption is considerably higher than what was on the sticker. We understand this sticker is tested in perfect conditions but we are experiencing a 40% increase on the urban rating with no load and driving conservatively.
Is anyone else having this same problem?
Is this normal?

Could you tell how much your fuel consumption is. Has the consumption gone up recently, if so check your tires, are they inflated to recommended level and how much tread there is left on tire. Also I would add that generally Volvos engines are pretty bad when it comes to fuel efficiency.
For D5 engine in xc60, average consumption should be around 8 l/100km or 29 mpg US.

Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
No change in fuel consumption, it has been the same since day dot. Average is 9.1l/100km.
Tyre pressure checked regularly with regular tyre rotations. 90% of driving is done with just me driving in the car- no passengers.
Are you a Volvo owner or dealt with Volvo’s before?
