Please Im new to this forum but I need HELP.. Its a long story that I will make short. i have a 07 xc90. i got 2 messages on my info screen. shut engine off safely voltage to high and power system service urgent. of course car acted crazy wouldnt change gears radio on and off ac on and off etc. So I learned I needed a sample battery replaced did that. Car acted Worse so then we had alt tested it was bad change alternator and yes i stayed with 180 amp. all is well drive car for almost a week acted crazy again and went dead on me. so i left it for an hour low and behold it started. Drove it home it was fine but had only one warning power system service urgent. so we took new alt off and had it tested bad electrical componets burnt up. exchanged it got a 2nd new one car would not run unless battery was connected to another battery took new battery out tested it bad cell. both parts are not even 2 weeks old. changed battery both were tested before 2nd install both are fine. crank car still same message power system service urgent so i drove car about 20 min acted fine but message would not leave.. cleared info panel and as soon as i put the car in drive it had the red triangle again with same message. so i had it put on ob2 reader coade p0105 Map sensor this was not there before change. what do i do help. i cant afford Volvo dealership they want 300 to look at.. fyi threw this whole process with the battery out of the car for 24 hrs on a few occasions nothing in my car reset.. my memory seats stayed same my radio stations stayed same my window memory was still same.. nothing reset... please help me..
Hopefully your voltage issue is all sorted out. What your P0105 is telling you is the MAP sensor's voltage to the ECU is too low or too high. This can be a sensor issue or a wiring/connector issue. Did you check fuses to make sure nothing blew as a result of the high voltage? You can also check the wiring/connectors to the sensor and if all looks good try replacing the sensor. Assuming you have the 3.2I6, google "Volvo 8699339" to find the part (Tasca Parts shows one for $75). Also check youtube for instructions on how to find it, should not be a difficult DIY replacement but I've not worked on an XC90 so I can't say for certain.
