Default Buying New 2008 XC70: What dealer-installed accessories should I get?

Greetings All,

Tomorrow I am going down to my local Volvo dealership to sign the paperwork and finalize the deal on a new 2008 XC70. This will be my first Volvo, and I am wondering if there are any dealer-installed accessories that I should consider.

Also, I found that there are four NHTSA recalls for the XC70. Click here for details. Is there anything that I should ask the dealer about regarding these recalls?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Cheers,
TMQ

The Dealer should have any and all recalls taken care of before the car is sold, so you should have no problems there. Options? I say..............

Manual trans!

Seriously, I can help you with options. Save the money and take vacation, a road trip and go camping or something.

Here's my 2 cents on accessories. I fyou do get anything I would def. get it at the time when you buy the car because then those accessories fall under the 3/36 warranty and no the 1/12/ Meaning, most parts at a dealer OR anywhere as a fact normally carry a 1 year or 12,000 mile warranty from defects. What most peopledont realize is that if you get it when signingthe car, then the warranty falls under the 3 year or 36,ooo mile one AKA the bumper to bumper one. I'm not telling you to do or don't buy... however if you are going to get a rear wing, cd changer or something electronically,etc... I would do it then to get the better coverage. Ask your salesperson. Good Luck with the purchase.

Default Thank you

Thanks everyone for your responses and advice. I decided to not get any accessories at this time, although I still have a couple days to consider an extended warranty. I will ask about the warranty in a separate thread.

Thanks again,
TMQ
